Pantech Vega Iron Coming on April 18 - Takes on Galaxy S4

Nowadays, Android phone manufacturers are setting their sights on Samsung as their Galaxy S series seem to be the smartphones to beat. Pantech is certainly no stranger to the Android smartphone scene as they released a number of handsets over the past couple of years, but they’re announcing an upcoming device is expected to be the company’s flagship smartphone to take on the likes of the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One.

Pantech is slowly growing into a big player in the Android world, but they have quite a way to go. Starting off with budget phones, Pantech was mostly relegated to the bargain bin. In fact, some of their feature phones were pretty poor quality. however, now they are catching up with the big ones or atleast intend to. By that we mean the Vega Iron may be looking towards the Samsung GALAXY S 4 or HTC One for competition. For now the details are coming by way the Chinese language MyDrivers site, which really just goes to say that we need the official word from Pantech. Just to begin with, the Vega Iron will be launching with a Snapdragon 800 processor. For the comparison, the GALAXY S 4 and One will have the Snapdragon 600 under the hood.  However, some sources claim it to be snapdragon 600 as well. Which Snapdragon processor is certainly up in the air at this point with a number of sources claiming it’ll either be the Snapdragon 600 or the Snapdragon 800. Either way, we’ll be keeping a close eye on South Korea later this week to report on Pantech’s upcoming announcement.
