Ultimate Windows Tweaker Review

There was a time when work tweak meant Microsoft's Tweak UI. Those were the days of XP. Since then , things have changed. Tweak UI is no longer available and the things that needs tweaking have also changed a lot with windows 8 and windows 8.1.

Ultimate Windows Tweaker is designed for advanced users (but it is simple enough for ambitious novices as well), UWT gives you control over more than 150 Windows settings, all of them conveniently grouped into seven categories Personalization, User Accounts & UAC, System Performance, Security Settings, Network Tweaks, Internet Explorer and Additional Tweaks). This is a portable product and and comes bundled in a zip file - download and extract its contents, then double-click to run it. Since it doesn't require installation and leaves your Windows registry keys intact. So, you can run Ultimate Windows Tweaker directly from your hard drive or from on an external USB device.

Before making any changes, it is highly recommended you create a System restore point. You can create a system-restore point just by clicking a button in the UWT window-handy just in case a tweak goes awry. Or click Restore Defaults to set everything back the way it was.

There are two versions available. Version 2.2 is for windows 7 and Vista. Version 3.0 onwards is specifically for Windows 8 and windows 8.1. There are many useful tweaks. for example, You can make welcome screen tweaks (e.g. enable verbose status message) and change options in User Account Control (e.g. enable admin approval mode for the built-in administrator account). Another useful tweak is Restore folder for Windows at startup in the Personalization section. If you shut down your PC or reboot with folders still open, those folders will re-open when Windows restarts.

In addition, you can make many administrative restrictions on Windows 8/windows 7(e.g. disable Registry Editor ), Windows Explorer restrictions (e.g. disable hidden Folder viewing Options), Windows apps' restrictions (e.g. disable Windows Media Cent) or configure Windows Update settings (e.g. disable all Windows Updates)

Protect Your Data: Best Backup Softwares

There’s nothing worse in the computer world than losing all of your hard work – like your documents and projects – or your collection of fun – like your music and movies. You can do a lot to protect these files of course, but sometimes hard drives do fail. In those moments having a backup is crucial. Also, Viruses, Worms or Trojans can corrupt your data and in extreme cases, may cause Hard disk Crash.
One of the best ways of keeping your data secure and safe from Trojans and Malwares is installing good Anti-virus. But what to do if your computer is affected and your free antivirus is not able to remove it, then only one option lefts i.e. formatting your hard disk. Before formatting you should take complete backup of you hard disk.
  • Software to Backup UR PC

Why do you need backup software? If you ever have a hard drive fail, or are hit with an impossible-to-remove virus, a complete backup of your files, drives, and operating system is the simplest way to return things to normal. Not having backups is like flying in a combat zone without a parachute. You can use Freeware backup software to automatically take back up of your computer without the need to worry about the manual ways of doing it. These Backup Programs takes the backup of Files or any Drive or whole Computer and restore it back to its original place. Here are some of the best Backup software reviews We Recommend:
Norton Ghost

The Hassle free Software. Norton Ghost helps you back up your whole hard drive – or just selected folders – to another partition, a networked drive or an external storage device. Creating backup copies in Norton Ghost is really easy. The program runs a step-by-step wizard the first time you launch it, which walks you through the process and provides you with all the available options.Norton Ghost can also create an exact copy of your hard drive (with all the existing files, programs and settings). When backing up the whole drive, Norton Ghost will also create a restoration point that will enable you to recover your system in case something goes horribly wrong. As efficient and easy to use as it is, Norton Ghost requires just one thing: patience. Backup copies can take a long time, so you should probably leave the program running in the background while doing something else – or even better, schedule backups to take place when you don't need to use the PC.
Comodo Time Machine

Comodo’s got a pretty sweet collection of free software out there, from antivirus to firewalls to backup software. In the backup space they have two main offerings: Comodo Backup, a sync based solution to the problem, and Comodo Time Machine, which offers an all-encompassing solution similar to Time Machine on a Mac.
Which of these solutions you want depends largely on whether you want a single backup of your files – in which case you should go with Comodo Backup, or an all-encompassing backup of your system including software, in which case Time Machine would be the better fit for you.

DropBox

While not strictly intended to be a piece of backup software, Dropbox does a pretty good job at making sure all your current projects are safe. Here’s how: keep all the projects you are currently working on in your Dropbox. These files will not only be synced to every computer you’ve installed Dropbox on, it will also be synced to the Dropbox servers. This means your current work is instantly backed up to all your machines as well as to the cloud the second you save it.
So while Dropbox may not be a complete backup solution, it can make a great supplement to an old-fashioned hard-drive backup

Macrium Reflect

An award winning disk cloning and imaging solution for free. Protect your personal documents, photos, music and e-mails. Backing up your computer shouldn't be a tedious task. Macrium Reflect Free Edition makes file backup incredibly easy thanks to its intuitive user interface and helpful wizards. Recommended if you want no trouble at all. It also has a nice Freeware version which is also great.

Safely publish your email address on web pages

We All need to publish our e-mail ids on webpages from time to time. But whenever an email id is published on a page, Bots who are always looking for them, provide the information to 3rd party marketers. And you start getting those endless Spam mails,

However, there are many ways by which you can email addresses on web pages by which they are less likely to be harvested by Spamming Bots. I am Providing two common options here:

1st Option
Encrypt Your E-mail Address Link

You can convert your ascii email address into its equivalent decimal entity HERE

What will it do?
It will convert shaun@shaunak.com into
shaun@shaunak.com

You can then Post E-mail on websites as:

Send email to

<A HREF="mailto:
&#115;&#104;&#097;&#117;&#110;&#064;&#115;&#104;&#097;&#117;&#110;&#097;&#107;&#046;&#099;&#111;&#109;>

E-mail Link
</A>"

2nd Option

You can use Special email address typing patterns. This is quite simple to use and also effective as most bots are not designed for this.

Instead of typing youremail@domain.com
You can write it as youremail [at] domain.com
or youremail (at) domain.com.
or even better  youremail <at> domain.com.

We all hate receiving spam emails and in order to stop getting spam email you will have to make sure that you don't openly share your email address.

Create Hassle Free Windows Hard Disk Partition

I've been asked by many of my friends about partitioning their computer's hard disk drive. The question is how to partition it & which application is to be used. Now if you are using Windows Vista and Above you can do it straight from your Windows. No Extra Software is Needed
Here is Step by Step Tutorial to do so:

  1. Right click 'Computer' icon on your desktop or in Start menu & click 'Manage'.
  2. Enter the Administrator's credentials in the UAC prompt.
  3. This will open The Computer Management Windo.
  4. Right click on the partition from which you want to create another partition & select ‘Shrink Volume’.
  5. Enter the shrink size.
  6.  The selected drive will be shrinked & free space will now be shown in the Computer Management window. You can create as many partitions as you wish.
  7. Right click the Free Space & select ‘New Simple Volume’.
  8. The New Simple Volume Wizard will now appear. Click ‘Next’.
  9. In the next window enter the desired partition/volume size, if you want to create multiple partitions & click ‘Next’. If you want a single partition just click ‘Next’.
  10.  In the next window assign the drive letter or, if you are not sure, leave it as it is & click ‘Next’.
  11. Set the file system to FAT32 or NTFS, Enter the label if desired, select ‘Quick Format’, in the next window, and click ‘Next’.
  12. Click ‘Finish’ in the next window to finish the New Simple Volume Wizard.
  13. The new partition is now created & shown in Computer Management window.

You can now access the new partition in the Computer.

Wasn’t that really awesome? It’s simple & you need not pay a single penny to create a new partition! Your comments are most welcome.
