LG G3 Leaks and Rumours - Everything that is known

LG was an outsider in the smartphone arena until recently when they made Nexus devices and their own flagship G2. With G2, LG finally had a phone that can hold its own against the flagship devices from the likes of samsung , sony, HTC or Apple. But the sales of G2 were nothing in comparison with Samsung galaxy S4 or Iphone 5S. So What will LG bring out next year to trump these? I, for one was impressed by LG G2 and would love to see G2 as LG seems to be heading in the right path with this.

LG has reportedly started working on its next flagship smartphone, LG G3, which will see a major bump in specifications. Seeing how much leap they took over Optimus G while launching G2, We are all eagerly awaiting to see what specifications and features the upcoming mobile will have. We bring to you  the latest rumors and leaks that have been going around the tech circles. 

Rumoured Specifications of LG G3:

1. Operating System:

This should not come as a surprise. It is rumoured to launch with Android 4.4 from the box. 

2. Processor:

The reports from Korea herald and Zdnet both say that the LG G3 will launch with an Octa core processor with 2.26 Ghz. This is supposed to build in house by LG themselves and is rumoured to be codenamed LG Odin.Earlier this year, LG signed an agreement with ARM to license its Cortex-A50 series processors (which, by the way, are 64-bit capable). So we assume that LG's own processor will benefit from this agreement

3. Camera:

The camera is rumoured to be similar to LG G2, but with a bumped up mega pixel count. The officials close to company have claimed it to be a 16 mega pixel shooter with OIS.

4. Display:

LG G3 is rumoured to featured a QHD(Quad HD ) display with a 1440x2560. There is no word yet on screen size, but we do expect it to be bigger than 5.2 " . As the current trend is, we expect the bezels to shrink down further allowing a bigger screen size while keeping the phone size same or shrinking it down. But seeing the bezels of LG G2, I am not sure if we can shrink it any more.

5. Finger Print Scanner:

Another rumour or leak that is doing the rounds is that LG G3 will feature a fingerprint scanner. Fingerprint scanners have suddenly become popular after first apple and then HTC used them in their flagship devices.

6. Launch Date:

The phone is expected to be launched towards the end of first half of 2014. It was expected to be launched in second half  but would be launched earlier as LG G2 sales were not upto the company's expectations. They do want LG G3 to make up for some of that. So I would not be surprised ig LG went and launched their flagship G3 at Mobile world congress at Barcelona, Spain in February 2014!

7. Other Rumours:

LG G3 is expected to arrive with a smart watch like the Samsung Galaxy note 3 came with galaxy gear. The company is expected to launch G-Arch smart watch and G-Health fitness band along with the the LG G3 handset.LG G Health will reportedly come with features similar to the Nike's Fuel Band. You might remember that LG Launched it touch smart watch LG-GD910 which came with 3G video calling.
