So do you remember nexus Q? It is an orb-like media streaming device, which sort of makes it the predecessor of the Chromecast. Google unveiled Nexus Q last year at the Google I/O, and recently Google removed it from play store. Inspite of the product failing to take off, many users still have Nexus Q and they were stuck with ICS. However, now it seems like the old Nexus Q can be given a fresh lease of life.
So with all the Walking dead episodes and World War Z, it seems like Zombies are back in popular culture. It seems like tech world have their own idea for making a dead device literally walk. The device which was seemed like dead and another of failed experiments, is now in news again.
If you own a Nexus Q, the device has received an unofficial update recently. The unofficial ROM brings the device Android 4.4. This Android 4.4 build for Nexus Q is based on CyanogenMod 11 and is currently tagged as an experimental build by the developer. However, This is not a perfect build and still ahs some issues. Most of the issues seem to be minor WLAN connectivity issues and stuttering Audio playback issues. But now when Google has officially turned its back on the Nexus Q, if you are one of those few who own this, it would be a good idea to check this out unless you are fully satisfied with 4.0 and want your device to stay that way.
